Yes, we should instead be giving taxpayer money to oil companies so they don’t raise the price of gas.

    oops

And your boy (bush) said $55 per barrel oil made drilling subsidies unnecessary. Oil stands at 102 per barrell.

I have yet to determine if any Volt caught fire outside of a government crash test. Yet the GOP has seized this issue and distorted it. With the global warming we will next need the Aqua-car.

Well, I don’t agree that oil companies should be getting a subsidies… you’ll never hear a disagreement with you there. No organization (private corporation) should ever get artificial support to stay up. But when you’re talking oil companies getting a few cents out of every gallon of gas profit compared to the double-digit taxes levied on every gallon of gas.. something’s off. And when you accuse those companies of gouging consumers and say what the government is doing is fine, something is screwed up. Government is the biggest consumer of taxpayer money, and we think it’s just fine? That’s mesed up.

If the republicans would have had their way, not only would we have a dead economy (thanks to the republicans) we would have NO car industry either!

’Tis a tale of a poorly-thought out government-subsidized car that costs the taxpayers five times a s much as it sells for, built strictly to pay off the UAW.

    Yak, yak, indeed.

This strip misleads because it tells only part of the truth, which is that by saving the domestic auto industry, Obama saved about a million jobs, and that the auto industry is now strongly profitable. It’s an example of a major success and it is those like Romney who said the auto industry should be put to death who were proved wrong.

And the Volt will have no effect on the economy, that’s ridiculous. What will have an effect on the economy is continued oil dependency, with all its hidden costs, beginning with the fact that Iran is using oil money to finance its acquisition of nuclear weapons.

This is why I don’t like McCoy. He’s dishonest. He sets out to mislead.

The Volt and the subsidies both predate Obama. Blame congress and GM if you like, but please stop making stuff up out of thin air. And Harley, your conspiracy theories are getting really weird, and completely implausible. Are you okay?

So Ford never cashed in on the cash for clunkers program, did they?

“…built strictly to pay off the UAW.”

So GM has no management? No CEO or CFO? Just union workers? Interesting…
