If McCoy would make a word play without the “editing” he could possibily throw something.

Yo Glenn,
When depecting Biden, howz about some hair plugs - maybe little corks. And when depecting Barry, don’t forget the cigarette - like you used to.

McCoy needs to coordinate his talking points with Gary Varvel, who just drew almost exactly the same cartoon.

For those who don’t follow links in comments, the article from lalas says:
“There have been particularly intensive efforts to make sure Mr Obama has his national security team in place, not just because he is widely expected to win the election on November 4, but because intelligence analysts believe America’s enemies are more likely to try to take advantage of Mr Obama’s international inexperience than they would of Mr McCain.”
Yeah. It sounds like something McCain would want in an ad: “Our enemies are more likely to attack under Obama than under me.”

Again, for those who don’t follow links:
“Some terrorism experts said the support [from terrorists] for McCain could be mere bluster by a group that may have more to fear from a McCain presidency.”
The article says nothing about being more likely to attack McCain. To the contrary, it says that McCain is more likely to fight terrorism, which the terrorists hope could cause further financial crisis. Of course, WWII brought us out of the Depression, so that’s an untested (though audacious) hope.

Obama is obviously a US citizen. He was born to a citizen mother. The original intent of the requirement of a natural-born citizen probably just meant non-immigrant, but inconsistent writing in later amendments and laws caused confusion. The citizen thing shouldn’t be an issue.
kellykid said, about 1 year ago
I don’t know, his grandmother in Kenya is so proud of her grandson, she’s claiming she was in the hospital room when he was born - She’s never been to Hawaii. Maybe you should read the official court documents of the suit yourself: http://news.justia.com/cases/featured/Pennsylvania/paedce/2:2008cv04083/281573/

I don’t care where he was born. His mom is a citizen - he’s a citizen. The Supreme Court is never going to take up a case involving the wording of the 14th amendment and how it conflicts with or complements prior laws regarding citizenship. If he wins, let’s not have a stupid court battle trying to prove he’s not eligible.

His mother being a US citizen doesn’t automatically make him a citizen. You need to read the law on the issue. The fact that you don’t care is nothing a court can base it’s decision on. And, that why the court battle is going on now, so there won’t be an issue if he wins.

I hope the courts square this out before the election, as this is serious stuff we’re taliking here..
If he’s found ‘Not eligible” after a win… all hell is going to break loose…
On a different note..
They replaced this toon with a color version…Great!!

From http://travel.state.gov/law/info/info_609.html :
“Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock: A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) INA provided the citizen parent was physically present in the U.S. for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child’s birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.”
Even if Obama is proven to have been born overseas, the matter of “at birth” vs. “by birth” has never been settled in US case law, and probably won’t be any time soon. The same “at” vs. “by” issue creates a problem for McCain, too, since the status of military installations abroad hasn’t been clearly settled.
I’m not rooting for Obama, but I don’t want a big legal battle over a preposition.
kellykid said, about 1 year ago
Well, the problem for Obama is that his mother had not lived in the US for 10 years after she was 14. She was only 18 at the time. There is also a question about whether or not she was actually married to Obama Sr. It’s not really a battle over a preposition.

Listen to this man, Biden, sometimes! LOL!
Well, at least listen to him, this time! He finally has something worthwhile to say! I approve this message, too, John!

Who cares about the technicalities? Both McCain and Obama spend their lives in the US. In my book, that makes them citizens.
TheGreatSatan said, about 1 year ago
If Palin had said the same about McCain you looneys would of been all over it, but because Biden said it he was just “being Joe.”
Double standards anyone?

HOW MANY ANGELS CAN DANCE ON THE HEAD OF A PIN?
The only response that any rePUblican can have is to deflect any discussion about any issue, these 19 entrys are the proof..

kellykid – learn to read. And, even when you read the law the way it is written (what a concept!), they’re fine. Barack was seven when his mother remarried and moved to Indonesia. She later returned for about five years, which even gives the illiterate their longed-for but uncalled-for decade.
Jeez Louise. Aren’t the courts clogged up enough with nuisance lawsuits that at least make SOME sense?

Some great political leaders in history were not even born in the place they ruled; Catherine the Great, who ruled Russia, was born in Germany, Napoleon was born in Corsica barely after it was a French territory, queen Victoria’s both parents and her husband were all german and spoke german in private, the first king of Belgium was a german and the widower of an English princess plus a good deal of roman emperors (including Augustus) were born elsewhere in the empire.

Woof! …Cor_frog is scaring me. You must be licking your frog… you are hallucinating. As I recall from my school days we Americans have what is called a “social contract” with ourselves…thus our country is one that is governed “by the people, for the people, etc.” -furriners cant be Pres.!

But both Obama and McCain spent their lives in America, that makes them american. (that would if they weren’t already)
kellykid said, about 1 year ago
Did you forget about the years that Obama spent in Indonesia and became Indonesian citizen? There’s a good chance that he’s still an Indonesian citizen since he appartently traveled to Pakistan in 1981 on that passport.

Believe me, guys, if there was a minuscule spot of dirt in Obama’s life it would have been spotted already by the Rove machinery working at full speed and handled over the Media appropriately…
