    true story: On my first trip to Paris, I was walking through the Louvre and came upon the statue of hermaphrodite (Borghese Hermaphroditus). As you approach, the view is from the back and I was a young guy thinking “all right!, this is one of the most beautiful statues I’ve seen on the tour.” I went around to the other side expecting more of the same. It took me awhile to process what I was seeing. I thought I had somehow wandered over to another statue and it took my going back and forth a couple of times to realize what was going on.

    That could be very confusing, especially if you were very young. Hope you haven’t suffered from the experience. :o|

    Hatguy – you are so refreshingly naive.
    (Did you see yesterday’s xkcd? Amazing! Nice to see you avatar, delightfully homicidal as usual, sitting on a ledge manning an anti-aircraft gun)

    actually BHG was in two different places in yesterdays xkcd. I wonder if that comic is a new world record for the world’s biggest comic (you drag it around the visible frame with the mouse). xkcd.com/1110/

    @pcolli

    yes, in the city of the renaissance. there is so much sculpture in Florence that it’s hard to remember my initial reaction, though it is obviously very beautiful.

    He could get this over with by, just unwraping it and showing it to them.
