    Hey Ron
    .
    Are the stations in your area predicting peak foliage yet? I’m taking my BFF on a tour of NE in the next month or so and would like to get there around that time. If memory serves, it’s around the last week in Sep / 1st week of Oct.

    I’ve got to hand it to Mojo, always a smile despite competition from his/her alter egos for attention, the dunkin donuts, the starbucks, the maryjo’s, the quick stores, gas stations, and on and on and on, all of those commenters carrying on with messages like a post office bulletin board. Mojo is a wanted character, let us know if he is half full or half empty and still able to smile!

    @Plods with Beer ( did I mention beer? )

    Plods, give or take a day or 2, it always works out to Columbus Day, October 12th, every year for peak foliage in Northeast Massachusetts.
    Middle to upper New Hampshire and Vermont, a week or 2 earlier for peak foliage, say mid-September.
    Maine, 2 to 3 weeks earlier for peak, say early September.
    Middle Massachusetts down to Connecticut, a week after Northeast Massachusetts, say late October.
    So, overall, the last few days of September thru the first few days of October for anywhere in mid to upper New England.
    You’ve picked a good year to see the foliage – because of the hot, humid, very wet weather we have had down east this year, Autumn should be extra spectacular this year.

    PS… Don’t forget your string bikinis – it can get pretty warm up here that time of year.

    No kidding! We must have crossed paths many times as the Topsfield fair is only 5 miles from where I work!
    Every year, they sponsor trips to the fair…
