The parson’s fee may be the rest of Rufus’ profit.

Can this strip get any stupider? Time to delete this and move on to something that’s actually funny…

This story line not only makes a mockery out of Marriage, but also the clergy………VERY un-Gasoline Alley like.

Very realistic depiction of the clergy, but could we please move on?

I think this is very funny. And I think it is a very strong series subtly pointing out the the insidiousness of greed. No one, even the good people of GA are immune to greed. Joel and Rufus are the best parts of GA in my opinion.

For me the joke has dragged on too long. Still waiting for the punchline with the money.

    - agreed and a bit of an insult to the comic strip readers that we would rather see him marry an animal than other human, Rufus

This is beginning to sound like an old Amos ’n Andy radio script !

The minister is acting more like a fake minister, not at all
like the minister at Walts and Skeezix’s church. He probably one of those workers who was doing manual
labor and said to himself the sun is so hot and the work is so hard I think that God is calling me to be a minister.
This arc is a parable on the dangers of greed corrupting
everyone that allows themself to be corrupted.
They will be pulled down from their fantasys soon enough.

@ PipeTobacco – I think greed theme could have been illustrated in a far better story line than this. The idea may have been worthy but the execution is below the quality expected of this strip.

    Money is a tool.
    .
It’s the Love of money that is the root of all evil.
Then trade out the word ‘money’ for the word ‘power’ and your really have some ‘bad going on!’

Where is the mayor that is sweet on Rufus and Rufus is supposed to be so sweet on? This arc has gone way too far down ‘Lame Lane’.

“Where is the mayor that is sweet on Rufus and Rufus is supposed to be so sweet on?” It has been stated in the strip that she is on vacation.
