What do you expect from Jon. He’s so predictable.

Oye Jon Boy,if you were ever to really wax clever you’d hide Garf’s present in the one place he can truly NOT look;Liz’s house.

How about the dish-washer or washing-machine. They’re both bachelors, neither would dream of looking in there.

Maybe, just maybe that’s a dummy present and Jon really did hide the actual present - no, I guess not. Under the bed? Come on.

Believe it or not, when I was a kid, I never looked for where my birthday gifts were hidden. I didn’t want to know. I liked being surprised on my birthday, because I believe that’s part of the fun of birthdays. And if, in the normal course of events, I happened to discover where they were, I paid no attention to it. (As for Christmas, it’s not applicable, as I’m Jewish.)

When my husband was little and as an adult, his mom would never do gifts as a surprise. He always knew what he was getting. His parents exchanged the same things every year: pajamas for dad, and a bottle of her favorite perfume for mom. It wasn’t until I came along that they learned about the “surprise” angle for gift giving. To this day I could never figure out why they did this. All I could think of was that it gave them one less thing to argue about, which they did almost daily. lol

Garfield shouldn’t even get anything for Christmas. He gives no one anything but cruelty.

I was about to suggest to hide the present in the fridge but that would be even more stupider than under the bed.

You do live with a fat cat after all.

My other half’s niece (in her thirties) will still find presents and unwrap them – whether they are for her or not.

Sounds like she should get a lump of coal—upside the head! :)

Lessee here. Garf’s gift could’ve gone in the vegetable or health food drawer or section of the fridge, on top of the scale, on a piece of exercise equipment … in theory, anyway. Nah—too easy, on all three. :)
