Since canaries are not indigenous to anywhere in the U.S., (except inside the homes of people), I can’t see how Garfield was able to kill/eat one, presumably while roaming outdoors. Jon is irresponsible for letting Garfield roam .. the typical lifespan of ‘outdoor kitties’ is 3 years (before they are poisoned, shot or hit by a car). Keep your kitties indoors, or take them out on a leash … its better for the kitties, and its better for birds, chipmunks, etc. (YMMV)

I had a tuxedo cat who was so large we had to get him a small dog harness. We put him on a run in our yard. He went to the end of his leash, backed out of his harness, and just laid down about an inch past. We gave up on the run, but he never went past that one-inch-past-his-leash limit.

It is better for the cats to do what comes natural: hunt.

Someday, Mrs. Feeney is going to send a hit-bird after Garfield and Garf will say “Aw, Mrs. Feeney, I didn’t know you cared”!

out door cats(those who can come into the house) have a much longer life expectancy the 2 or 3 years. We have had many cats over the years, one was hit by a car and lost a leg(lived to be 17) and another was attacked by a coyote at 16. They did not want to be in the house all of the time, and still lead good lives compared to being feral.

With all the feral cats in existence, that would be physically impossible. Deal with it!!!!!!!!!!!
