What a cat! A cat for all seasons. Sassy. Opinionated. This lasagna loving, mailman chasing, sarcastic cat is a classic that readers love. Garfield, Odie and Jon will leave you wanting a daily dose of this beloved bunch! Garfield’s crafty talent with words and sneaky preference for practical jokes often leave his owner, Jon - and us - speechless, and always wanting more.

It’s an annual festival called “Spend all your money and make the stores rich”. It’s also linked to “Use a lot of electricity by putting lots of lights in your garden and annoying the neighbours” month.
.
The latter is a tacky display of nonsense and has nothing do do with the actual meaning of things.

HUMBUG!

Well, Jon. You sit there and rarely move. Garfield was just looking for an inanimate object to hang his Christmas decorations.

Yes, humbug! Colorful lights are fun and festive and bring cheer on cold winter nights. Summer flowers are gone, spring is months away, lights are all that will bloom right now!
Spending money on cheap useless crap is a different subject matter.

There was a neighborhood street where all the men tried to outdo each other with xmas lights. The street glowed like daytime. One of the women noticed an appliance she was using was running slow. Soon the transformer supplying that street with power boiled away the insulating/cooling oil inside and shorted out after severely overheating. It self destructed in a spectacular fireball and finally blew the fuse on the high voltage side.
