What a cat! A cat for all seasons. Sassy. Opinionated. This lasagna loving, mailman chasing, sarcastic cat is a classic that readers love. Garfield, Odie and Jon will leave you wanting a daily dose of this beloved bunch! Garfield’s crafty talent with words and sneaky preference for practical jokes often leave his owner, Jon - and us - speechless, and always wanting more.

Send yesterday’s coffee after the mouse…

There ya go! That’ll scare the mouse away. Or it’ll drink it and become some kind of uber mouse

How do you think Mighty Mouse got so strong?
Nuclear Coffee imbues the drinker with super powers.

Looks like you need to get another cat Jon. A “normal” cat that will kill mice.

I am reminded of a great TV show … The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show, where Sylvester is trying to teach his boy how to hunt mice. One runs into the case of a Kangaroo and then hilarity ensues …

Many years ago, Garfield said, “show me a cat who is a good mouser, and I’ll show you a cat with bad breath.” That’s why he prefers birds to mice!

Garfield likes to eat live birds because the feathers tickle his innards.

@ Allan - I was thinking of it when I posted the comment. I’ve never seen it, but it came up in a conversation and sounded hilarious.

Pity that Jon’s expression wasn’t caught on camera. THAT would look great on Garfield’s blog, LOL.

Have you ever TASTED a mouse? Nasty.

By Jon’s reaction in panel 2, it looks like that mouse tried playing Garfield’s tuba (from a previous strip).

At the start of “Garfield” in 1978, the title character said to “show [him] a good mouser, and [he’ll] show [us] a cat with bad breath.” That could explain why Garfield doesn’t do mice.
