   To people who are confused, time in the comics world isn’t relevant to time in the real world, which is why authors can span week-long story arcs that all happen in the same day. An example of this is http://comics.com/big_nate/2011-03-14/ through http://comics.com/big_nate/2011-04-09/ In other words, this strip likely takes place in the same day as June 19ths.

    GarfieId’s birthday is definiteIy on June 19th. The onIy reason why Jon has said ‘’Happy birthday’’ to GarfieId a day Iater is because in the first strip (June 19 1978) GarfieId and Jon HAVE to present themseIves and teIIing their names. lt’s important to make strips Iike this when you begin to make a comic in the first pIace!

    GarfieId’s birthday is in the previous strip. (June 19) The reason why Jon said ‘’Happy birthday’’ to GarfieId on June 20 is because June 19 is the FlRST strip and GarfieId and Jon HAD to present themseIves. lt’s important to do that when you make your first comic strip!
