    That’s one odd concept-convolver.

You never know when a trick like that may come in handy.

Unless, of course, the book is an SF novel.

Evolution is a Communist plot to take over American dictionaries.

I am outraged, yes, OUTRAGED at the vile, sexist, anti-boy remarks by this, this, this person with the big hair! I’m a boy (well, I was, a number of decades ago), and I read, eagerly. Even FA and FB! So there!

    Don’t be outraged – she’s just a girl.

Blog: (knot)….What sort of knot is it and what’s it’s purpose?

I think it’s a figure-of-eight knot. You put it at the end of a line to keep the end from slipping through a pulley, grommet or other fitting designed to pass a line.

Yep, that looks like a figure 8. Boy scouts use a figure 8 follow thru to attach the end of a rope to a scouts harness for climbing and rappelling.

    Farmer Johnson had a girl,
    A lovely baby daughter.
    She named her Oleomargarine,
For he hadn’t any but her.

Regarding D.J. Cashier, there were many woman who dressed as men and served. Some followed their husbands and boyfriends, others served for various other reasons. I do not believe any went the route of D.J. after the war though. As an aside, I read a news story of a woman participating as a soldier in a civil war re-enactment that was denied the right to participate by park officials because she was female. Rather ironic I thought.

Oh boy, Fishnet Tuesday! You’d never catch any minnows with a net like that, though. Could be that’s not what she’s trying for.
