Back in Virginia, we said it took 6 people. 1 to change the bulb, and 5 to talk about how good the old one was!

Some light fixtures are placed in unsafe places. Our house had a light at the top of the stairs to the second floor. It wasn’t in a place where you could get a chair, or stepstool, and stand on it to replace the bulb. The chair or stepstool would have been to close to the edge of the steps for safety. I had the light replaced with a swag light which had been in our entryway. The chain was attached by a hook to the ceiling at a position where the bulb can be changed safely. I bought another light for the entryway.

Anytime we had the big ladder open in the house, Vixen, Puck, and Sassy would race to see who got dibs on the top of the ladder, who had to take the paint ‘no step’, and who had to be on the next to the top step. Vixen got lost a couple of times in the attic and when she finally came to the opening, I had to climb up, get her, and give her a bath (all that insulation, you know).
Our Lhasa Apso, Buttons, didn’t understand the attraction.
