    Lassie, in the book, could tell time. She knew when school was out so she could go meet Joe at the gate.

    Fred can’t tell time, but his bladder, etc. knows when it’s time to go out.

    Mine can tell time. He knows every night when it’s time to go to bed. He bugs me until I take him out and then he runs in and get into his crate.

    @Chickweed Fan

    Dogs know when it’s time for master/mistress to come home and will be right there waiting.

    Fred needs to pat 1 more time on his leg, then act like he (Fred) is about to hike his leg on his owner. That’d get him outside pretty quick.

    Notice I said, “In the book.” The book “Lassie Come Home” was written by Eric Knight and she belonged to a family who had a son named Joe. It was made into a movie (not sure when) starring Roddy McDowell and Elizabeth Taylor made her movie debut in the movie.
