I dog sat for a basset once….I quickly learned you walk, err, saunter, errr plod at their pace. It was the slowest, most zen walk ever. Couldn’t make him go faster in any way. Stubborn as hell. Loveable though.

Had a basset years ago. He would pull your arms out of their sockets trying to go faster. Loved car rides too.
