The last phone booth I saw was at a yard sale several years ago in Mount Prospect, Illinois. It had been in a transient hotel in Chicago until the hotel building was demolished for urban renewal.

Phone booth – a small enclosure placed on the sidewalk to provide privacy for conversations but Batman used them for changing clothes after Superman quit using them. Between the two of them, they pretty much trashed them and the phone companies sold them for one room homeless shelters. Then some upstart ATT employee or relative invented the I-phone to replace the Me-phone and Ma-bell was pretty much out of it.

We have a wooden phone booth in our golf clubhouse. It still works perfectly…
