    Typing tutorials all want me to switch from the Dvorak to the Scholes keyboard layout. That would make my typing worse, not better.

    ALL Microsoft products “give advice”; but, the “Office” series is worst of all. I’ve used a set of margins for my work over the years with which I am both comfortable and accustomed. So . . . Download “Microsoft Office 2010”, and . . . Oh! Boy!

    I am not just “advised” what my margins “should be”. I am flat out TOLD what the software “will allow”. Oh, yes, I CAN, for special use, adjust to a set I see as suitable; BUT!!! That becomes nothing more than a “temporary”; and needs more time than I care to spend setting it up each and every time. Type face is also something I have to set – at times, page by page, since, again, “Microsoft Office 2010” has picked out just what typestyle IS TO BE “standard”; and damn the customer if he wants anything different.

    It might be different IF there were any real “Artificial Intelligence” involved. But, with Bill Gates’s junk, it’s much more a matter of NO INTELLIGENCE at all; just some nerd’s notions of programing. And now, they’re offering a “Beta Version” of something even more “advanced” when it comes to telling the user just exactly WHAT to use, and HOW to use it. Ah! Well! Just goes to show what comes with monopolies.

    @Ronald Davis

    Had to look those up. The Dvorak must be hard to find. For phones, I’d rather just have the letters in ABC order, since my thumbs don’t know the keyboard like all of my fingers do. But phones with ABC keyboards are nonexistent.
