Frank and Ernest, created by Bob Thaves, chronicles the antics of two "everyman" characters who are anything but ordinary! They appear in different settings, time periods - even manifest as things and creatures other than people. The variety in the strip extends to their observations about a wide number of subjects.

“I broke out of jail, got drunk, stole an ambulance and hit a school bus full of orphans, and broke a fingernail. Larry Barker got me six million dollars.”

My family had a 1970 RCA color TV set. It was more-advanced than the one shown here. I’d think that F&E’s set is more like 1965-vintage!
Our RCA emitted about 5x the radiation that most sets of the day emitted, and we weren’t allowed to sit within 6 feet of it.
It also gave our cat, Maggie, who loved to lay on top of the warm set, terminal cancer. :’(

Fascinating story. May I ask at what age did Miss Maggie die?

Yeah, Apikoros, AshburnStadium, and Justice22, that’s because Frank & Ernest look like they grew up in the ’60s.

That’s why Doctors and Lawyers were ban from advertizing for years. Not the lawyers don’t even have to chase the ambulances, the people watch a commercial and come up with symptoms so they cam file suit. “I’m created the accident, but want to sue for falling down. Don’t quote me though.”
