    Pluto?! Wasn’t that discovered a few years ago that it isn’t a planet? (I’d like Jason to try “John Carter of Treasure Planet”; it’s favorite version of novel “Treasure Island.”)

    @TEMPLO S.U.D.

    It’s just not considered one of the major planets of the solar system anymore. It’s been reclassified as a minor planet.

    Considering everyone says it’s going to flop, Disney probably isn’t interested in sequel ideas.

    Is it looking like Peter is needing a haircut? A little scraggly ….

    They say that Pluto is a rogue planet, that it is not from our solar system.

    Yeah. I don’t think Amend saw how big of a flop this would be when this strip was written (probably before people knew about the record $250 million budget). I wonder what his vote will be on The Hunger Games in a week or two.

    When is someone going to give Edger Rice Burroughs any credit for John Carter?? It will be as light weight as there Tarzan cartoon.

    @SavannahJack

    No, they had to drop the “Princess” from the title of “A Princess of Mars”.
    And then, when you look at all of the movies out there that are “…of Mars”, you realize that EVERYBODY knows what Mars is like, and Barsoom is nothing like that.
    I mean, the Little Green Men aren’t supposed to be 10 feet tall in popular culture.

    Wow, this cartoon led to some heavy discussion.
    I was just going to say the pizza idea was cheesy.

    Actually, John Carter and the Skeleton Men of Jupiter (supposedly by ERB, but there are some that say he didn’t write it) was published in 1942. http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0600591.txt
