I see John didn’t help out one bit and who’s gonna clean up the mess? Elly. Where’s John?

Where’s John? Probably at his dentist office earning money to pay for that party. But that doesn’t matter since all husbands are to be hated because they are all worthless. Right?

And that was with only nine guests! Does everyone still think that Elly should have let Michael invite his entire class and half the neighborhood? :-P

That’s a pretty big chip on your shoulder.
I’m not arguing with you — I’m just a bit surprised by the bitterness you seem to have.

And that’s why I am happy to celebrate birthdays somewhere else (like a bowling alley, a roller rink, a jumping place). Worth every penny, in my opinion.

Yes, you do seem like a pretty bitter person. I don’t know what experience you went through to give you this idea, and I don’t really care. Running a house and raising children is a team effort. It’s up to each couple to figure out how they divide up the responsibilities, and if you are unhappy about how things are done, then talk rationally to your partner rather than making blanket statements on a comic that obviously are resentful.
p.s. There are plenty of parents (male and female) who work at a job and also come home and help out there. It’s definitely not a bizarre concept.

Where was the baby daddy during this romp fest? He’s a man, it was a boy’s party. Why the no-show??

Why does Lizzie have her hand over her mouth? Is she getting ready to barf up all the candy & cake she probably ate?

    re: goweeder

Actually, I have to agree with him, given how it’s been so common in the media. It has been pushed in TV, movies, etc. for at least a quarter century. The “stupid man”, “worthless husband”, “uncool guy”, etc. ceased to be funny about 1985 or so, but the media never thinks so. men have been targets since radical feminism hit its nadir.
    .
The programming worked in my generation, unfortunately. Despite multiple ministries in several cities, I’ve only once overheard women of genx speak with concern for another person’s feelings. Compare that with ANY other group or generation in this nation, where that behavior would be most unusual. What people are taught in schools and media really does make a difference.

I think some of us get really tired of the John bashing here. And the Ellie bashing.
