My man is cutest when he’s asked embarrasing questions by my kids (now in their 50s). That’s why I LOVE this photo!

They have been through this before. They understand each others foibles.

Turn about is fair play and don’t let him forget it

Granted this cartoon strip mirrors much of Lynn Johnston’s life, her depiction of the husband is too much of an idiot. He needs better control of his mouth, eyes and brain … especially when the wife is around. Of course, then we wouldn’t get the comic relief needed here … it’s just that this strikes home to reality for a lot of dumb couples I know.

I’d either leave the SOB or make his life miserable forever, or until he left me, which would be a joyous occasion.

Lookin’ great DAZZ! Yours is the 1st real photo that I’ve seen on GoComics! Nice to see the face behind the post! The ’net can get so impersonal at times. May you have many more happy years!

It needs to be kept in mind that we are seeing caricature in this comic strip, not reality. if something happens, instead of a four or five, it gets ramped up to 8 or ten for comedic or dramatic effect.

In the case of a bitter divorcee, one has to take everything with a pillar of salt, particularly given the “reasons” for divorce today. The ones that make me cringe are “I was bored”, “we didn’t party enough”, “he didn’t make enough money”, etc.

I’ve actually heard some parents say that their children are being influenced and using as role models, some of the participants of shows like Real House wives. No wonder that people have such shallow expectations, when committing to a marriage contract.

My wife used to get mad at me for checking someone out, until I caught her drooling at a guy at the gym. From then on, we agreed we could look at the menu, just not order.

El, he might be more attracted to you if you make a change here or there. I’m thinking of putting some effort into a wavy hair style instead of the same old, same old.

    Lynn’s Notes:
This scenario played out between us more than once. It wasn’t uncommon for us to deal with the truth in jest.

True but drooling in public can be rather embarrassing. I would definitely give John a taste of his own medicine.
