Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

lol, my adult kids started a silly game of “he’s looking at me….. he’s not touching me” the other night, it was really funny and believe me their children thought they had lost their minds. They will laugh at this when they get older.

You wouldn’t think Michael and his friends would be interested in little girl stuff……………..but then again it’s fun to play with………

Lynn’s Notes:
Wherever Aaron was playing, Katie wanted to be, too. With their big difference in ages, she was considered a pest. The boys would holler for assistance and I’d rescue them from the fumbling hands of a little kid. I would then have to find something special for Katie to do so she wouldn’t feel left out. I often wondered if her gravitation to the boys’ bombs and light sabres wasn’t a neat ploy to get 100% of Mom’s attention!

Lightenup: You can celebrate it if you want. When I was putting a good pack mule out of work hauling US Mail, I appreciated the $2 bills on that day. When I lived in Vancourver, I also knew some Aussies and Fijians who missed their Boxing Day picnics. Rain is worse than ants!
