Hey! Even Julia Child objected when MacDonald’s stopped cooking their French fries in beef fat!

Does anyone else think the menu is advertising a “banana splat”? ;)

I’m sure restaurant burgers are extremely extra unhealthy, which is why they taste so much better than what we make with our 93% lean meat at home. My guess is that some even follow Paula Dean/ MIL’s advice and put butter in them. There are probably traces of HFCS in there but I think the taste is due to the grease/fattier meat and all the junk they put on them.

Hell, any place they serve a Banger Burger isn’t gonna worry about a little unhealthy grease.

Look at the prices! How far back was this? But I remember a burger, fries & a shake for about a buck at Mickey-D’s. Now a water cup costs you.

My brothers and I always thought the same as Michael. My mom’s burgers were too fat to please us. We wanted the thinner burgers they served at Mickey D’s. Little did we know it was mostly the filler they put in them.

These prices show this strip is very old, in Canada now there is no way you’re going to get a triple giant burger for $1.45.

It’s the ice cream prices that mesmerize me.

Ice cream is triple that, this year.

Poutine is Quebec, don’t find much of it in Southern Ontario

The real test of a restaurant burger is if it is edible plain. Most places use such poor quality meat you NEED all the other junk to cover the flavor of the meat. In-N-Out and Wendy’s are notable exceptions.

There was a time I ate a lot of take-out burgers. My ex wife was a fast-food-a-holic. Now they’re just an occasional guilty pleasure.
