    The coat is probably like a Thundershirt. They have a calming effect on dogs in storms, fireworks, etc.

    If any pet owner doesn’t know about Thundershirts, they may want to learn more about them. They can really make a difference. It is a similar effect to what Temple Grandin describes as a “squeeze box” used to calm cattle, which she adapted to calm autistic children, by applying gentle pressure on them.
