Really, a rear leg should be raised to get the full effect.

My wife is knitting dog coats just like that for my son’s dog in the colours of his favourite football team. One completed and another nearly so. My son’s dog loves the one he has already … won’t have it taken off.

The coat is probably like a Thundershirt. They have a calming effect on dogs in storms, fireworks, etc.

If any pet owner doesn’t know about Thundershirts, they may want to learn more about them. They can really make a difference. It is a similar effect to what Temple Grandin describes as a “squeeze box” used to calm cattle, which she adapted to calm autistic children, by applying gentle pressure on them.

Fake dogs don’t fart or have fleas.
