Good stuff! Suggested reading: “The World Without Us” by Alan Weisman. The only question is, how much of the biosphere will we take down with us? Being a duck might not be such a good thing, because they are edible. But, looking on the bright (?) side, I doubt that we can get rid of any considerable fraction of the invertebrates, and will probably leave at least a few vertebrates behind as well, So, give evolution 10 or 20 million years, and the biosphere may well be as diverse and species-rich as it was when we arrived.
