I had a long “career” with quilting. Took my first classes when our youngest was 1 year old (1976), and enjoyed the classes and the tons of goodies I made. Then people wanted what I made, and boom! A cottage industry was made! I designed and made thousands and thousands of products. I had 8 women sewing for me out of their homes, and we really had a great time. Mom & Pop stores across the country bought from me, as well as two major department stores (one was on Rodeo Drive, and was French). Then, the big recession hit, around 1991 or 92, and many of those stores went belly up. That’s when I got my job I retired from in 2006.
