Good morning, Vagabonds. I usually read the Azcentral comics at Midnight and the GoComics at 1:15 AM. Today, however, I went to sleep early and didn’t wake up in the middle of the night to read. Instead, I got a good night’s sleep.

    Morning, Vagabonds.
Installation went well. It was an “open meeting,” which means that the ladies are invited. We met at Catfish Cabin, where the Chapter paid for the ladies’ meals, then we reconvened at the Lodge hall for the ceremony. Always lots of fun.

    Good morning Guys and Gals.
Still over heated, hopefully by late tomorrow we’ll cool down.
Arye, keep close to your AC, by the weather NYC is supposed to be baking today.
Been having trouble getting into part of my toon list, had to get here through the main list.
I have always liked the Installation ceremonys of the orders I belong to.
The IOOF is quite similar to the Masons, I have been in Lodge Halls that house both orders.
Ok folks, keep cool, stay healthy, later.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

David, when my dad passed away, one of the things we did was put his apron on him for cremation. Both of my grandfathers had been masons, too but somehow the aprons were neglected in their “final arrangements”. So Dad asked that their aprons as well be cremated with him. And that’s what we did.
Just curious, did you ever get involved with DeMolay?

Temp is now back up into the one-teens. And, of course I had to choose to go out in it yesterday. Phew!!

    Good morning Vagabonds,
Not going to the gym this morning as it is hot and going to be close to 100 with high humidity. Supposed to end tomorrow evening with T showers and then go down to the 80s next week. Not planning to do much today.

    Good Morning, Vagabond Family,

Wow………Alexikakos………….that is some sandwich!!!! I LOVE bacon, ……………..however………….!

We have a heat wave coming also. Supposed to be in the low 90’s for the next 7 days. Ugh! Like Jan, we plan our outside activity accordingly.

Watched a weird movie last night……..Night of the Hunter with Robert Mitchum. Never saw it before, and I don’t plan on watching it again. He really was a good actor…….didn’t like his character at all!!!! Just plain weird! (can’t wait to hear what y’all think about it ) :))

Lost $3 at cards last night, but as always had good laughs
and great conversations, and snacks. Nice little breeze at the lake, so under our canopy, it was very comfy.

@DKRAM:Thanks for the warning. I stayed in so far and played Scrabble in Turkish with my azeri friend who speaks perfect Turkish. I lost by 5 points: 247 to 252.

No, my father was dead set against what he called “secret societies,” even though they aren’t. My mother’s parents were both Mason and Eastern Star. When my grandmother tried to get my older sister to join Rainbow, Dad hit the roof. That was the end of that!
