Good morning, Vagabonds. I slept thru the morning, I was so tired and, when I woke up, I unpacked. So I only had a light lunch and later a supper of quesadillas and a chocomilk. Later I drank a mamey fruitshake. I spent the day walking around the zocalo, buying some asthma spray for myself and changinging money. The peso is now 12 to the dollar. I met some nice people at the zocalo, including an engineering student who later friended me on f=facebook. He has a Maya surname and when I’m in Merida I carry arounfd a list of Maya surnames and their meanings in English and Spanish that I compiled. His surname, “Uicab,” means honey collector and he didn’t know that. I also bumped into friends who I haven’t seen since the last time I was here.
It’s so nice to have my laptop with me too.

Morning, Village.
Arye, glad you had a safe trip. Enjoy your stay in Yucatan.

Beaumont had 2.74 inches of rain yesterday with 3.72 inches in the last seven days. It looks like the rain is over for now, though. The air is still extremely muggy. I think it’s too humid to do any painting at the house.

Good morning, Vagabonds.
David, I had a silly dream last night about trying to teach my 6 year old neighbor what “humidity” is. Talk about tongue-tied!
Sailed through my oral surgery yesterday with no problems at all. Compared to last time, it was awesome. Very little pain or swelling at all. Now all I have to do is wait until the end of March to have the final crown & bridge done.

Sounds like a GREAT day for everyone in the Vagabond Village!
You paint a great picture, Arye. You didn’t know you took the whole Village with you on your trip!
Lots of rain is good! How does that change the “drought” for your area, david?
It started snowing early this a.m. Very light right now, but supposedly we’re in for a long spell of cold weather and snow. I’ll keep y’all posted if it snows like they predicted (24 inches for the mountains).
Good going, Jan. Glad this surgery went so well. We’ll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

It’s so nice to know that everyone is following my trip.
Jan I’m glad your dental surgery is coming along OK. I had the same procedure a few years ago.
I haven’t Shirttail Slim on line today. I hope he’s OK
Here in Yuctan a good percentage of the population have Maya surnames instead of Spanish ones.
