   APT3G: @DAVID: Luann sas she’s going to spend Christmas in Dallas with her new-found mother. Margo answers, “Texas!” followed by an uncomlimentary remark about Texas. That deserves a response from you.

   REX MORGAN: If Phoenix’s friends have given up their jobs to help her, live rent-free because they’re unable to pay rent and are supporting Phoenix with their parties, and cancer charities are helping Phoenix, what other kind of financial help does Phoenix need – surely not money to combat her bancrupcy?

   MARY WORTH: I’m sure that Mary wants to start her own cult.

   Rex Morgan – Actually, the medical bills are in hundreds of thousands, if not millions, for a single patient. No fund raisers or financial assistance could really make a big difference.
   Judge Parker – Yeah. Put him on a guilt trip.

   Apt 3G – I don’t understand the response. Some people just hate Texas because they’re a bunch of bigoted fools. I have spent 64 Christmases in Texas and loved every one of them. It sort of reminds me of the German exchange student we had back in ’99. She said that when she was asked where in the US she would like to go, she said anywhere but Texas. Then, lo and behold, they sent her to Texas. To make a long story short, she loved it! She has told us repeatedly that there will always be a place in her heart for Texas. We have maintained contact with her over the years and she comes to Texas every other year to visit us. We have been to Germany twice to visit her. “Ugh!” indeed!

   Apt 3G – everyone I’ve met from TX loves their state. My college roommate is from TX and I hope to visit him in Dallas someday.
   Mark Trail – looks like Otto hasn’t learned anything from this experience.

   Rex – Many care-givers have jobs, too. At least one of these people needs to work though that wouldn’t cover the medical bills and rent on their apartments.
