    HI, MRG!!!

    Top marks to Shika for paying attention. I was indeed on the water in my kayak for the first time this year. Caught a really nice crappie, too. About 14" long. The bad news? For the first time ever I REALLY thought I was going to spend the night out on the river. We paddled 4 1/2 miles up the John Day River from its mouth at the Columbia River. Coming back the winds were so ferocious I spent 20 minutes paddling without moving one foot. Everyone was exhausted by the time we got back. Akenta, sorry I wasn’t available to fill in for you on Saturday.

    HI JFRI!!

    We were out on Watson Lake here in our kayaks, and we had to battle a wind like that. We had to paddle around a point, and like you said, it was like standing still. The fish sounds

    GRITS!

    good morning and happy monday locos. Today Spain is observing their holidays yesterday (Lunes siguiente Día de la Región de Murcia and Lunes siguiente Día de la Rioja). Australia (except Western Australia) is celebrating the Queen’s birthday. China has the Dragon Boat Festival. Columbia is observing Sagrado Corazón. Portugal has Dia de Portugal. And if this isn’t enough the Celtic Tree Month of Oak begins today.

    That looks like a good recipe, and the website looks good also. Cooks.com is another good site.

    Good evening all! Rainy gloomy day out east, but I was working for most of it, so it is ok.

    I’m glad you returned safely JFri. That sounds like it was a bit of an ordeal. Exhilarating though, I imagine.

    Happy Monday, Akenta.

    It was the Queen’s birthday? I forgot to send her a card! Oh dear. I do hope she forgives me. ;-)

    It’s been a lousy day ere, but I was indoors all day anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter. Except that at the end of my seminar, I had to travel two hours for an errand and I hated walking in the rain.

    @Dry and Dusty

    Dry, you wouldn’t celebrate oak trees if you have ever had to rake acorns and oak leaves for hours (spring and fall), as I have. Thank goodness I get paid to do it.

    I hear you johnny! Rainy, overcast, and warm and humid. But I like these days too when it’s summer. I got as much as I could into my garden yesterday because I knew this rain was coming. Glad I did. What I have planted looks so fresh and revived! We are under a Tornado Watch, but I doubt it will happen. It is pouring now and the humidity is 98 percent. I should go to bed now, rain on the roof is so soothing for sleep, but it’s too early, only 9:38

    It is not too early for me, Dry. It is 10:25 p.m. now, and I’m signing off!

    Good Night Gracie!
