Perfect example of the free market, free enterprise, for profit, capitalistic model the republicans love so much. Perfect example of why we need the government to do some things for the benefit of all. Otherwise before the lifeguard will swim out to save you they have to run your credit card first. Too bad you’re in the water and can’t give them the card.

$150 million for Alaskan fisheries, $2 million to the Smithsonian to repair roofs and $8 million to Homeland Security and the Justice Department to buy cars.

$58.8 million for forest restoration on private land.
$197 million “to… protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.”
$10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief.
$17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program.

A wind energy tax credit expected to cost $12.1 billion this year.

$100 million for Head Start day care

Need more? look it up. google it. whatever

It takes really crooked politicians, and their friends in the news media, to load a bill us with poisonous pork and then blame the Republicans for their lack of concern for hurricane victims. Drew Sheneman is either ignorant of the truth, or purposely distorts the truth to further the liberal agenda. When it comes to true compassion, the evidence on tax returns shows that Republicans give much more of their own money to charities than do Democrats. The Democrat compassion is limited to other people’s money. Some compassion.

Actually most of that pork was put there by republicans, so they could point to it and say it’s pork, we’re not passing it, and if it did pass, they’d have their pork.

talk about really crooked politicians! how true!

Love it when people complain about other’s critical thinking skills, when they have none theirselves…

Didn’t anybody there have private flood insurance? Or fire insurance? What happened to the Republican model of the private sector taking care of us? We certainly pay through the nose for such insurance.
