No kidding. The commercials are always LOUDER than the music programs, to get your attention. They are irritating.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been frantically looking for the emergency vehicle only to find out it was on the radio. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I no longer listen to the radio in the car.

Heh. The first time I heard “Smoke On The Water” was in my car, and I was doing the head-swivel routine.

At one time it was against the rules.
    .
But with all the “getting the government out of business”…
    .
They are going after those who are putting the EAS alert in commercials etc.

More common sense in advertisers would be nice – they should have the SENSE to realize that some sounds need to be a bit less realistic in commercials.

Even more annoying—popup ads on websites.

I just pop a tape in my 8-track and not have to listen to commercials.

I am glad someone finally said it. Thank you, Kevin Fagan. Maybe it is the law somewhere, but not where I live. Let’s get a law passed, please.

I thought I was the only one. How true to life. I don’t know how many times I’ve jumped and looked around for the person honking only to find out it was a radio commercial. I get so annoyed I never remember what is being advertised.

I hate that. And police sirens used in radio commercials.

I once turned off a Star Trek novel on tape while driving in a snowstorm because of its realistic battle damage sound effects.

I not only quit listening to the radio in the car, but anywhere. If I want music, I listen to my computer or iPod. Don’t watch much TV, either. I avoid a lot of annoying ads that way.

Agreed. Add screeching tire sounds to the list.
