    I hate when people feel entitled to be invited to a wedding. If you’re not immediate family or very close friend then just be greatful if you are invited!

    Well, if X is your first cousin, and Y is X’s full sibling, then Y is also your first cousin. Z, Y’s daughter, would be X’s niece and your first cousin once removed.

    If we’re talking about a niece by marriage or a half-niece, (the daughter of a half-sibling,) then possibly the niece is no blood relation.

    His cousin’s niece is a second cousin to his kids. My husband’s family has weddings that include second and third cousins.
