   its the only way to draw them normal size and still fit the idea that hes just sitting there watching tv without getting fancy about it.

   No, people really do sit that close to a TV. Every time my wife’s son visits, he moves a table (for snacks) and a chair over to the TV and sits about 3 ft from the screen. Which completely blocks access to the room, but he doesn’t care, he’s got himself covered.
