Babies and puppies are both quite cute, but underneath the soft, cuddly exteriors lie the fearsome hearts of competitors. Well, not really. When a new baby joins the household, Sophie the dog is initially irritated, but eventually comes to see the baby, Doug, as the asset he is: a better way to get snacks. Though the baby is still hogging precious attention, and has a tendency to pull ears and be a general nuisance, a begrudging friendship forms between the two rivals. Watch the mischief unfold in Brian Anderson’s Dog Eat Doug.

I know the dictionary allows it, but I still think “minuscule” with an I in the fourth slot is just sad.

Irregardless….. Actually, the word that makes my teeth grind and the hair on the back of my neck stand up is…..normalcy. Really? What IS that? (It’s already in the dictionary)

We may not LIKE that modern dictionaries continue to reflect common usage (I hate much of it myself), but a study of the language shows that it IS the case since even before Chaucer’s time.

Wow…this isn’t your dissertation, folks, it is a comic…go be serious linguists somewhere else. Did you get the humor in the comic? Holy Smokes!

it would be fun if Dougie and thatababy could be friends and visit each other’s strips! Does thatababy have a name even?

@Kirk irregardless is in itself contradictory – without regard to something that does not have regard.

You’re no fun at all. You have your fun your way and we’ll have our fun our way. But if you want to keep reminding people these are comic strips (duh!) and telling us you’d rather have us discuss only topics you like, go right ahead. You have my permission.

Sophie is just seeking her own mass moment. and the more mass she acquires, the more mass she acquires. (not a typo)
