They would never make it from the pan to the grandchild.

Nothing stopping her from making them (other than the fact she can buy them already made).

Is it not Joy speaking first – to Joy?!

Those ready made squares have been around for years. I couldn’t believe it when I first saw them. I’m not a fan of them, but it doesn’t take a trained chef to make them.

    Mornin’ Leaky!

I was wondering what’s been happening to the Find-Its.
Since you always get here before I do, I even thought maybe YOU did something with them….

The Darwin sisters always could eat anything in their path though….
    so you’re probably right.

A few nice details today, though….
an ad for actual dinette sets in one of the circulars on the table…..

The “Stop and have some coffee” sign, the mushrooms with names,
    and especially, Verl’s

    “I’m ’y Special”

    sweatshirt,
all make me think Julie has attended some actual senior center craft shows lately.

    And yeah, Toenails…. Dad????

Pacopuddy…. Verla, in orange today, always has the little bun and the pointier glasses.

Big sister Joy wears a French twist, of sorts, and oval glasses.

Joy can’t boil water.. How will she ever melt butter and marshmallows? Does she even know what crispy treats taste like? I personally don’t like the ready made ones they are too hard and have a bland taste to me I like to make mine and yes I can eat it all !!!
Susan It took me almost a year to figure out who was who between Joy and Verl. Thanks for the tip.

I can’t imagine Joy cooking anything with her grand children. She doesn’t seem to have time for Timmy. Or is he not hers?

I bet she cut the coupon anyway.

Well, if Patty would get to it they might have a grand child, but given Patty’s experience growing up, I imagine she is hesitant wondering if she would turn into her Mom. Would this future grand child get to eat any of these treats she would make? Maybe on small piece.

SS, I took Toenail’s comment to suggest that the real impediment to Joy making something for a grandchild was getting a …. DAD!! Poor Patty.

My neighbor children were over yesterday and gave me a little plaster cast “art” piece they had made. I will keep it around for now (even tho’ as NOT my own kids’ work, so I won’t keep permanently. I gave them some treats from my containers. My home made Amaretti are as hard as rocks because I am not eating any sweets and they have not been over in a couple of months.

They said they were away at “school” (probably some camp their parents picked to keep them busy until actual school will start). Most local schools are starting around now. I might pick up some Rice Krispies (or the generic) to make Krispies. I’ll consider for my next trip to the supermarket (Sprouts does not even carry brand name TP).
