Been ready for six hours, have they? You look so good just the way you are, why take them out at all?

Of course they go out with rollers in their hair.

Somehow I picture them in “spoolies”

Hasn’t had time to take them off? In the space of 6 hours?

What has she been doing? Force-feeding Burl with ho-ho’s?

    OMG Lleaky…. LOL

    I hadn’t thought of Spoolies in years…

They were old-fashioned even in my youth…
when I rode dinosaurs to high school.

But if you can get ’em in a thrift shop, Joy and Verl have some.

They probably save those for dress up.

    Oh no, PacoP….
They’ve spent the time shopping at all the finer establishments…

Marg… I slept in pink foam rollers… was that before your time?

    Feeling Old Department:

    A teenage client wanted a 60’s hairdo for a “retro party…”
    (snifflle)..

I told her that back then, instead of using a curling iron, the stylist would have put her under the dryer for an hour in rollers.

    She said “What’s a roller?”

And least they don’t wear pajamas in public. They have some class and self-dignity.

    @SusanSunshine

I remember when I was in high school in the late 60’s we used to roll our hair on orange juice cans to get to be straight or iron it. The worst was sleeping in those nasty brush rollers with the picks that held them in and you always woke up with a indention in your forhead from a stray pick. lol I still have some of them but never use them.

I’m surprised they also don’t go out in their sweats and flip flops. See The Duplex.

My older sister had a roller set that heated up hard plastic rollers to wear overnight. They had little spikes coming out of them to help hold the hair in place, because you couldn’t use hair pins with them. They were very uncomfortable to sleep in. This reminds me of the old 1960s commercial for hair jel. “Curlers in your hair, shame on you!” These ladies have no shame. lol
