When you open the “Car Salesman’s Handbook” Burl and Co. are on the first page under “Holy Grail of Car Selling”.

They’ll dikker with you all right.

    No warranty…

Pre- loved for only a dozen years…
and just marked “down” to the price of something only 10 years newer!

My directions to them would be “Don’t buy it”…but of course they wouldn’t trust that.

They’d think I just wanted to grab it myself.

Yeah… the only person who “found” anything is the salesman.

    A big fat all-day sucker, that’s what HE found…
and I’m not talking about how much Burl actually weighs.

Hi SS.. You are exactly right and I was 70% wrong. I love learning I’m wrong about stuff.. that way I can quit being wrong!

I’m impressed you figured out what I had in mind. Yes, I thought the father drew both of us when, in fact, he drew neither.

I didn’t know about the daughter nor your personal artist. They both draw in a style similar to the father.

Wait till they turn on the radio. They will remove it when they find the station presets do not match their taste in music. Something tells me they like a station that jazzes up popular songs much like elevator muzak.

    @Tom Falco

my dear husband turns on the GPS and then goes his own route, so we have to listen to her endlessly say, “when possible make a u-turn” !

Two months ago I bought a 2005 Buick with less than 13,000 miles on it. It was only driven, I think, to take the owner to the doctor. Then the last year she was on hospice, so the unbelievable milage is explanable.

Toenails — glad you saw my comment!

I don’t know whether you’re being facetious, but actually, as for me, I really DO like it when people… let’s say “update my information”…
    cos I want to know!

Not if they’re rude or they “correct” typos as if I can’t spell…
    I never grammar/spellcheck people cos I think it’s mean.

It never occurred to me that you didn’t know the daughter did your avatar.
I might not have known of her either had I not seen articles on the web about her show and book awhile back.

I kept looking at the face thinking “Where have I seen her?” …
    and then somehow,
noticing the soda straw made me remember the painting…

Several posters have thought I cropped my avatar from a drawing by her father…
in fact I thought it looked sort of like his work myself..
It’s not in Rodd’s usual style… but I love it.

It was so kind of him to do it …
I’d posted on the BREVITY forum for years, when it was on, where we didn’t have avatars…
another poster there on THIS site wondered what I would use…
and Rodd posted that he’d draw me one!

    I sent him a photo….
    which he wildly caricatured.

Meanwhile…. where’s YOUR art link this time?

    “cos I want to know!”

That’s “BECAUSE I want to know!”
