    Where is everybody?
    Who’s gonna keep an eye on this guy down there in the basement?

    You KNOW Burl won’t admit he doesn’t recognise any washer gizmos the repairman holds up…
    “See, here’s your problem…
    the flipperdungle switch is all worn out and there’s a spider in the floozle tube…
    luckily I have those parts in the truck today.”

    Dangerous words alert:

    “Just sign here.”

    Morning Susan, it is two hours after your post and still nobody else here.Oh, well, I;ll go put on some coffee while waiting for the others to get up.

    I like how they bought the repairman’s logic!

    Good morning Crustwoodians, where ever you are!*

    Right, sure, and with all the repair money they’ve spent they could have bought a brand new one.

    Don’t you just love scab labour? I’d post more but I’ve gotta run out and buy one of them there Wang washers. Just think, I can wash clothes and write letters at the same time!
    And Susan, don’t forget the dainty “whopperdoodle gear.” They’re always going out.
    Back in Navy days we would tease newbies by sending them off to get relative bearing grease or some waterline.

    Burl’s trying to scare the guy off so he can now apply the $150 to a new (or gently used) washer.

    I miss all the detail that used to be included in the background….. Perhaps a “wrong way” or “yeild” sign… or “Pest Control” truck passing by….! ! !

    Why might his tool box be flammable? Good morning Crustwoodians (still a.m. in Land of Lincoln).

    @SusanSunshine

    I was falling asleep at the keyboard again last night…
    Plus, I was having trouble with GoComics. I’d click on a comic, and nothing would happen.

    @mikie2

    Ever send anyone for a BT punch? Or a nuclear battery? Show someone a Seabat on the fantail?

    Our ship stalled one time (just for a few minutes), we had a newbie convinced that we were going to have the Kennedy give us a push start.

    A friend of mine had a brother who was a BT on another ship and he told us about the allusive bilge frogs. They would wait till the newbie was distracted and toss a wrench or screwdriver the other way. When it clanged they would point and holler, quick, there goes a bilge frog now!

    Ah Mike2, you brought back some memories.

    @Dave Hussell

    Speaking of memories, there were those opportunities for people-to-people programs in Olongopo (Subic Bay, PI.) and Sasebo, Japan. Olongopo was one thing but the best time I ever had was in a local bar in Sasebo. It was a hangout for a lot of old IJN vets. We wandered in and they welcomed us like long-lost brothers. Drank lots of Kirin and sang old sea chanteys until the SP came in. The Japanese guys hid us behind the bar.
