Julie Larson began writing The Dinette Set comic in 1990, then called Suburban Torture, offering a satire on middle class culture. The Dinette Set became syndicated in 1997. When asked where Julie gets all of her ideas, she admits there is only one way to write a daily comic: write about what you know. "I make no bones about who’s really talking in The Dinette Set," says Julie, who is writer, director and cast of The Dinette Set. "If we can’t make fun of ourselves, who will?"

Good Morning Everyone in Crustwood
I am back from a very, and I mean very lucrative trip to the casinos on the Gulf Coast.
BeauRivage……..won a little.
Island View……….broke even.
Hollywood…………hit the mother lode!!

@emmielou (aka Julie Larson)
It did not go unnoticed by me in yesterdays strip that goofy Burl was shaking that box marked “fragile” with of all things inside………glass windchimes……..I hate windchimes
The best thing he did was break that cacophonous piece of junk!!
(funny strip though)
Cracker Barrel……………for old people like dazz

Aww but I love wind chimes, it’s so fun watching the neighbors try to sneak over past the dog and break mine! >:)

Good for you, Leaky. Could you spare a brother a dime?
I bet Verla was even more delighted when they started using a time clock so she wouldn’t have to keep track of her hours herself. Maybe one day they’ll even promote her so far up that she doesn’t have to come in to work at all!

Wow, Leaky … congratulations!
When’s the big barbecue?
I hope there’ll be enough liquor on hand for Dazz….
(if that’s even possible)
… and I guess I don’t have to beg you not to invite the Pennys.
Meanwhile…. good morning, folks!
Happy to see your shining faces.

Wow.. Verl has the right numbers on her wall for Information and the operator!
I’m impressed.
Love her noose poster…. gives new meaning to “hanging in there.”
In this case, they all used to hang together…
the company (or does she work for the county?)
decided they’d be more productive hanging separately…
So they all got a “promotion” to taller walls…
but they’re still being watched, I see.
Does that middle guy have “V.I.P.” tattooed on his bald spot??!
BTW apparently, even though I posted yesterday, I missed reading the later posts on Saturday till tonight…
so Dave, if you see this….
sorry about your news.
Hope you find something else fast.

Good morning all! I can’t tell from anything in her cubicle WHAT kind of work she does (if any).
.
Leaky, CB for OLD people like me? I told you, I went once; As a chain, I only like Outback; they serve cocktails and decent steak and good veggie sides as well as some fries.
As to casinos, I don’t gamble much (except for the one trip I took to Vegas where I purposely took playing money). My BF goes to gamble often tho’- we even stopped at a local offshore casino for dinner last time I was there. We played a couple of slots on the way in.

Cup another promo (I think a utility co is “People’s Gas”). I did not realize poster was a noose- thought it was a Christmas ornament as there is something in center.
And again Joy has a sweatshirt from “Just Pants”.
