I cut this out, and put it inside my medicine cabinet, right next to the number for poison control.

this public service advertisement brought to you by the Emerald Potato Company of Eugene, Oregon. Our potatoes are green on the outside, but if you don’t like green potatoes, just wait a week and they turn black.
    .
(When I worked in portland the spuds turned black in a week, despite being in “dry” cabinet. Beats me how the Irish ever kept a potato over the winter, given how similar the two climates are).

Of course, this gag was written to be seen in B&W. The fact that third party, years after the fact, has colored the frog green and the potato brown kind of works against it.

This gag would have been even better had they been sitting on the couch!
    You heard me… I didn’t spud-der…

Such humble beginnings. Sometimes it amazes me how huge this strip became.

You have a right to hate the Tea Party, but this is NOT the place for it.
