If you exercise regularly, abstain from alcohol and sex … you won’t live any longer … it’ll just seem like it.

I run (a lot), quit smoking, rarely drink, eat healthy. Sometimes I do wonder why.

It’s a lose-lose situation.

Achilles faced a comparable conundrum. And others have said it, too: a short life, but a merry one!

I subscribe to the philosophy of my old boss.
“Never take exercise. If you’re fit, you don’t need to; if you’re not fit, it’ll kill you.”

I never saw the sense of running from point A to point A, I just never leave point A and have more fun.

I walk for exercise, (have bad knees so can’t do much more strenuous.) Most of the time it doesn’t hurt, either during the work or afterwards. This morning might be an exception, since I did nearly 6 km during a high winds warning. :-|

You exercise so you feel better the rest of the time. If you’re not feeling better the rest of the time, you’re not doing it right and you’re better off quitting.

I’ve run 35+ marathons, one ultra and hundreds of shorter races. Running is highly over-rated but it does help in trying to live a healthy life. Hate being called a “runner”, most runners are so self absorbed in thinking what they do is so respected and marveled at by all others…….no, most people think running long distances and in awful weather is dumb and pointless.

Same here, lol. It gets very boring and as I’ve aged it hurts alot more. Now I try to run on trails as much as possible. Its more pleasant then running by cars and city noise and unless I trip over a rock, a root, or in a hole, its much easier on my body.
