Artist Joe Staton and writer Mike Curtis co-author "Dick Tracy," the classic comic strip distributed by Tribune Media Services.
Created by Chester Gould in 1931, "Dick Tracy" is one of America's most-enduring pop-cultural icons, noteworthy for its steadfast, chisel-jawed hero and the gruesome gallery of villains he and his fearless team of Crimestoppers must outwit to put behind bars.
When longtime "Dick Tracy" artist and writer Dick Locher retired from the strip after 32 years of meritorious service, fans Staton and Curtis jumped at the chance to don the yellow fedora and trench coat. Staton has been drawing comic books for many years and has more than 1,000 credits under his belt. Curtis, who has been writing comics since 1986, is the only former law-enforcement officer to work on "Dick Tracy." Both creators are excited about the new--and dangerous--adventures they have in store for Dick Tracy and his Crimestoppers.

Now that he’s in the paper and been seen by many, this may be the last bold wide open “public” crime for the Jumbler. He kind of stands out in a crowd, ya think?

You got a well-groomed dog & (2) E-Mail’s. I would think those would be good places to start.

I suppose Tracy wants to find out just how much the newspaper and its reporter really know and if they have any good photos (like the page one shot) of the Jumbler and his four-legged accomplice.
Very iconic panel 3, with Tracy snapping down his fedora and Sam lighting up his ciggy.

Was the Jumbler ever employed by the Newspaper office?

Considering the anti-tobacco social environment of today -especially in the workplace – why would Sam be smoking?

Smoking? And they took Montana Joe’s tobacco away. Today’s environment? I’m having a dickens of a time figuring out when this is taking place. Police cars look to be 60s vintage, 70s at the latest. The train that took out Sweatbox was late 50s, possibly a steamer. We are tracking Montana Joe’s radio show that may have occurred in the 40s. Oh, yes, and this “batty” villain is using “U Tube” (YouTube)? Dick Tracy must be a lot smarter than I am because I sure can’t figure any of this out.

Tracy is going to start at the bottom and work up. He’;s going to find out how to “do” Jumble in the paper. Once he masters that……..

Very well drawn today with vibrant colors!!! Kudos!!! Is it ok if I ask what that is in panel two with the pictures of Jumbler on them? TV screens? Computer monitors? Surveillance pictures? Just wondering. Hope I don’t offend anyone, not my intention. Sorry if I did.

I’m pretty sure those viewscreens are 60s-era Diet Smith technology.
