A personal gripe here: Too many people call a dog a ‘service dog’ just so that they can bring them every place they go. True service dogs are highly trained, and wear vests when they are working. I had a therapy dog, and together we visited hospital patients once a week. He was well trained, and had to pass a rigorous test to become a therapy dog.

Given the strange videos that have been received at HQ. Wouldn’t it be logical that they would have instructed the commanders of the local police stations, during roll call, instruct officers to be on the lookout for a weird looking guy wearing glasses with numbers on them?

I’d look out for a guy wearing glasses like that, too. He’s likely to stumble into people.

Margueritem, I almost never see or hear about people fraudulently claiming their pet is a service dog. What I do see and hear about quite often, on the other hand, is people with actual service dogs being discriminated against by clueless business owners who think they have the right to question them about the nature of their disability and express skepticism about whether they have a legitimate need for a service animal. This seems to happen a lot.

The people with true service dogs aren’t in question. You can see that the dogs are working.

The people with true service dogs aren’t in question. You can see that the dogs are working, and are easily identifiable.

Yes, but that doesn’t stop some dumb folks from questioning them anyway. It’s not right, but it does happen.

“Madrigal Days” Is that anything like a Renaissance Faire?

Given that Cookie Duster is a villain, there’s good reason to doubt his claim that his terrier is a service dog.

I’ve seen service dogs with people who are not “physically” disabled, and you would not know they needed them just by sight. Each time the animal was wearing the proper identification. I’m glad I haven’t seen any run ins with clueless business owners. It took me by surprise to see someone with one in my local grocery store. No complaints here. From his looks (buzz cut, in shape and well built, etc.) I’m just guessing he was a veteran. I was “educated” on service dogs by reading Funky Winkerbean oddly enough. Great storyline recently showing a veteran who could barely function in public, slowly improving with the help of his “Buddy.” I back these people and their well trained dogs 100%. As for today’s strip, I’d say this was just a special event ticket taker with no clue to even ask to see any identification.

Crypto does appear to have a handle on his back. I think Crypto’s a little short though. I mean, it’s a long reach for the handler in a standing position and Jumbler is not in a chair.

Are the family we see in the long shot from above and behind in panel 1 the Tracys, attending the renaissance fair? Is Mr. Jumbles planning some sort of ambush attack? Something is about to happen!
