~ Neonleon, I retired from FedEx in 2002 after 18 years. It was a good company to work for, and I’m sorry to hear that things have gotten so tough lately. I believe that the people that got layed off worked in the Hub. Is that correct?
Actually, no. Hub workers have had their hours cut over the past few months, but this time it was purely salaried office workers. 1000 people nationwide, including 500 in Memphis (FedEx HQ). It’s still a very good company to work for, but they had to react to the crappy economy somehow. It could have been a lot worse, and hopefully the downward trend is nearing the end.
