Personally, I’m not interested in looking at a picture of someone standing next to a fence. I’m also not sure what I would learn standing there looking at the fence.

Almost everything we see through the media has been selected and edited to express a point of view. Unless you were there to hear and see everything, you don’t really know what happened. Can we know what reality is, beyond our immediate reach?
    .
Our opinions about news events are formed by other people’s thoughts and opinions, then we further select what we believe. Everything is filtered through a newspaper or digital screen for us, and those who look no further (futile though it might be) are the pawns of those who want to impress their point of view upon us. Have you ever attended a event and then later read the newspaper or TV account – what you saw and what is reported are often widely different.
    .
That might be why images taken in totality through security cameras seem so strange (at least to me). A modest suggestion: Every political event and meeting should be filmed with multiple security cameras and available unedited. Of course, the volume of visual information would be staggering but I’m sure some people could filter it for usefulness. But there we go again with the basic problem of relaying information with a neutral point-of-view – the human factor.
    .
I don’t know what the solution is. Most likely there never will be one: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever will be, world without end.

It has been a slow news week so the media (and comic strips) focuses on trivia.

Well stated. One more example of our society’s demand for style over substance.

“Or with a few of the many immigrant “children” over the age of 21.”

They’re probably too busy toiling for below minimum wage for “job creators” who knowingly hired them to save money on wages and workplace safety.

Pres. Obama couldn’t have said or done a more cynical things right out in the open for all to see. His mask has loosened some. That hard hearted Plutocrat is showing through.

If you had followed any of the links, they were all stories about illegal immigrant caught in raids on businesses suspected of hiring illegal migrants. You commented on the illegals over the age of 21 and refuted my response that they are working for American companies. Clearly they are being hired by American companies, which only encourages more to illegally cross the boarder. BTW, which President signed a bill into law that made it illegal to repatriate children back to countries that don’t border the US?

If you had followed that link, you would have known it was about an illegal immigrant found working at a pot farm in Maine who testified about the Americans who also worked there. I didn’t realize that news stories from local newspapers were considered liberal propaganda.
