Mitt’s a real whiz. No problem he can’t solve.

Ohhh, and the reporters are at him on this. And he is doing the old “vow of silence” routine. What a great leader. Not.

Yup, turn it over to private corporations, and/or bankrupted states (bankrupted by those same private corporations). THERE is an “answer” for you!

Turn it over to the States

KING: What else, Governor Romney? You’ve been a chief executive of a state. I was just in Joplin, Missouri. I’ve been in Mississippi and Louisiana and Tennessee and other communities dealing with whether it’s the tornadoes, the flooding, and worse. FEMA is about to run out of money, and there are some people who say do it on a case-by-case basis and some people who say, you know, maybe we’re learning a lesson here that the states should take on more of this role. How do you deal with something like that?
ROMNEY: Absolutely. Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.
Instead of thinking in the federal budget, what we should cut—we should ask ourselves the opposite question. What should we keep? We should take all of what we’re doing at the federal level and say, what are the things we’re doing that we don’t have to do? And those things we’ve got to stop doing, because we’re borrowing $1.6 trillion more this year than we’re taking in. We cannot…
KING: Including disaster relief, though?
ROMNEY: We cannot—we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids. It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we’ll all be dead and gone before it’s paid off. It makes no sense at all.
Talk about twisting someones words. Romney was not talking about only FEMA but ALL federal programs. Is it so important we should borrow from China to do it? Well? Is it?

Romney’s Financial Plans center on this saying:
Tax the Poor,, Feed the Rich.

“Talk about twisting someones words. Romney was not talking about only FEMA but ALL federal programs.”
-
Well, nobody twisted his words when reporters asked him about FEMA this week.
-
I suppose that could be because he would not respond to reporters’ questions, or even acknowledge they had been asked.
-
Neither he, nor Rayn have been responding to reporters’ questions for a few days now. I figure it might be Sarah Palin syndrome again:
-
They’re distortin’ my words by quotin’ ’em verbatim.

Mitt said it best. Nobody could make this stuff up.
This reminds me of Harry Reid’s last election. He was eminently beatable. Republicans were embarrassed by the Ensign scandal, and wanted to show they were still a force to be reckoned with. Plus by and large Reid is an idiot. I’m sorry; he’s part of the problem. But the Republicans ran Sharron Angle, who wouldn’t speak to reporters because they wouldn’t ask the questions she wanted them to ask. Even people who wanted to vote against Reid couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Angle. Perhaps this is a foreshadowing…..

Thank you, Bruce, for “letting the tape speak for itself.”

Tigger: Colbert had it right: those state that have been hit, and seen all their infrastructure washed out to sea or drowned, and can’t even begin to afford to save themselves; yep, that’s the true brilliance Mitt and Ryan bring to the stage.

btw: MItt IS indeed talking about ALL federal programs. Take a look at what “Doc” Hastings has been proposing for a long time to “privatize” all federal operations with regard to natural resources, that belong to ALL OF US! Giving Trillions and trillions of dollars worth of resources over to corporations, for LESS than pennies on the dollar, is their “plan”, to further bankrupt the people, while the less than one tenth of one percenters walk off with MORE subsidize profits!
