Yes, America is the candy store for those who want to kill people. The vendors are happy to assist.

The fix is technology.

Fine ban firearms, but everytime someone is killed in a violent crime or home invasion after taking away our ability to defend ourselves, which will happen, you anti-gun nuts should be prosecuted for being an accessory to the crime.

Just add one psycho for it to become a weapon of mass destruction.
Just like a person, alcohol and a vehicle independently are no problem but combined can kill.

@zoidknight
That is completely fair. I accept your terms. In the meantime, you should be prosecuted and held liable for ALL crimes committed with guns!

My guns, even the “evil, black” ones, will NEVER be used to “assault” anyone, unless they are entering my home with intent to do harm to my family or me, or to steal from me. I work hard for my money; not only would someone be stealing “things”, but they would be stealing the time I put in at work to own those “things”, thus they would be stealing my life. Not gonna happen on my watch.

We’re being lectured on guns by people who don’t know a clip from a magazine.

Nobody wants your stuff that bad, Troy. You are forty-three times more likely to be killed with that weapon in your home than you are to kill an intruder. Just pointing out the statistics. Nancy Lanza was not an outlying data point.

Just don’t buy the cheap stuff from Russia because most gun ranges don’t want you to shoot it. The bullets are made with some scrap metal and they shred up the backstops. Other than that it’s good ammo.

I won’t argue against the right to defense of home and self. But tell me- what sort of home-defense scenario can you describe to me that requires an automatic or semi-auto rifle with a 30-round magazine? Are there roving bands of criminals decked out in MIL-SPEC body armor that I’m not aware of? And if those rifles were properly stored- either in a gun safe or a locked rack, unloaded- then how could they be accessed in the short amount of time between entry and encounter?
If I owned rifles of that nature (not beyond the realm of possibility; I’ll freely admit that taking them down to the range would be a load of fun), I’d be absolutely paranoid about keeping them as INaccesible as possible- preferably off-site in a dependable, protected armory- and keep something more accessible and less dangerous for home protection, like a .40S&W handgun or a .38 revolver. The only logical rationale I can see for keeping multiple rifles “ready to go” is for use against multiple individuals wearing anti-ballistic armor… like law-enforcement officers.

The Main Reason for having means to protect your family is the Collapse of the Economy and social structure. The results of a collapse? No Food delivery to distribution centers, No Fuel, no police protection. Those who need food and other necessities will go where they are and use whatever force they have to acquire them. Your preparations and that of close friends likewise prepared, may be your only protection……..Far-fetched?…….Look at History, Look what is going on around you here and around the world. ………..This is the short version of the problem and totally in focused.

facts and statistics=
any weapon is an “assault weapon”
the 10 year “assault ban” that ended in 2004 got congressionl testimony from law enforcement leaders/agencies that “we do not need that ban which was ineffective…the crime rate using guns did not go down under the ban.”

some leftwing brains are allergic to guns which were used to create the USA in 1776 and which are used to defend and maintain our freedoms.

an example of the Bullies on the Left is CNN’s Pier Morgan, who had no factual answers to Larry Pratt, and on world TV, Morgan threw a 3rd-grade hissy fit of name-calling his CNN guest. Morgan should be sent on mental-health leave from anchoring a TV program, IMO.
