Sadly.

Even the fact checkers lie to us by lies of omission. They pick ‘n’ choose what lies they want to check and then leave the others alone. They are not politically unbiased.

It’s not just political bias, it’s bias in favour of ‘fact checks’ that will pay for the cost of checking in terms of garnishing a bigger audience.
If it’s going to be more research that a quick Google, and if the fact is too obscure to matter, it ain’t gonna be checked, and that’s that.

I trust the fact checkers (who do, at least, put some details in their discussion to back them up) more than the candidates. Even Romney doesn’t believe his own lies, as evidenced by the fact that he doesn’t even try to back up the pants-on-fire, four-Pinocchio Medicare ad. But he’ll keep running it, since that particular slander polls well among low-information voters.

I agree. Moreover, what is now “fact checking” used to be known as “reporting”.

I believe the word you’re looking for is journalism. I haven’t seen much of that in ages.

I’ve found fact-checking to be a dubious activity – I mean look at Obama’s last birth certificate… isn’t he about due to show us a new one? maybe this time He’ll give us one created on Apple iphone Apps? Everyone should be able to get in on the fun.

Fact-checking is like “poll data” – there is always someone behind the “facts.” So, who do you believe?
DrCanuck said, 9 months ago
OF COURSE it’s biased. Facts have definitively been shown to have a liberal bias.

Really? Libs care about ‘facts’? Since when?

@Michael wme
Maybe they should sub-out the fact checking to Jeopardy.

They report lies equally against Obama and Romney

@ARodney
The Fact Checkers have proved many of Obama’s attacks against Romeny to be out and out lies.

True, the liberal bias against conservatives.

Good distinction. Today they report, and then report again, without correcting the errors of the first report.
