If you’ve finished all the leftovers by Saturday night, the turkey was waaay too small.

I was a guest, so no leftovers on Turkey Day. Friday my sister roasted one and split it with me. One cannot enter December without having at least one turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce.

Turkey is never “left-over”; it is just preparation for more meals. Although I know the skin is one of the yummiest parts, especially as I roast mine, I give skin and bones to the birds on my patio. I roast with slivers of butter (as well as bunches of fresh herbs) under skin, more herbs with onion and carrots in the cavity, and baste with white wine.

When I cooked for whole family, I sometimes did whole bird, but my mom was the only dark meat person, so I started doing one drumstick with breast. That way I never had to deal with any. I sent any stuffing home with whoever liked it, as I never did.

There are various foods like stuffing, and ribs that I will cook but not eat (maybe a taste, but I’m OK without).

I did groceries yesterday and when it’s light, I’ll go pick a few small oranges and make a big batch of cranberry orange, and use with French toast. I dredge both sides of fresh Cracked wheat bread with ground cinnamon and whisk egg white w/vanilla (maybe a little almond milk) and soak them till they are nearly falling apart, then brown well on both sides OK I admit to some whipped butter for that and top with any fruit (this time cran/orange) and creamy Greek yogurt –
    YUM!

No. The desserts were never ending and the hubby refuses to eat any. I must go on alone now. Darn the luck. :-D

I made turkey and noodles today with the last of the turkey. There’s a tiny bit of ham and potato salad.
