    Today’s “Daddy’s Home” Comic & Question:
Why am I asking you a question about a 1928 German stage drama called, Die 3-Groschen-Oper?

Answer, part 1. Die 3-Groschen-Oper (Three-Penny Opera), character Macheath (Mack the Knife).

Answer, part 2. “Mack the Knife” lyrics, by Bobby Darin.

Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.

So, Tony, pretty easy question. Have a little respect for the strip’s demographic; we ain’t readin’ “Pluggers,” you know.

I like “Pluggers” too. It often reminds me of my husband or myself.

Actually, lyrics by Bertholt Brecht… Darin wasn’t even a twinkle in his daddy’s eye, yet

I’m reminded of the Pink Panther doing his impression of Jaws for some reason…

I love this strip and Tony’s questions too. I don’t read German, but realised the meaning because I knew groshen was money and I’ve seen many performances in English. I also love comic Operas in general.
